Through the years, I have delivered contributions to projects and programs, where I have flexibly adapted my portfolio and competences to plug and play in a number of different tasks, including but not limited to:

Change Agent.

In any of the above roles, I have leveraged my academic background and business experience as accumulated through the three decades in various functions, enterprises, and countries.

The Formative Years.

I started in the Italian creative industry. This went from ItalDesign Giugiaro (automotive design) to Euro RSCG Milano (leading EU agency network), via Armando Testa (where I worked on clients like P&G and Bolton). Project management, public relations and copywriting for national advertising campaigns were my first trajectories. Furthermore, I developed additional experience as an editor-in-chief, journalist and author with fine arts, design and cultural publishers.

The Leadership Years.

From 1999, my leadership role as a Director in the world famed Strategic Design team at Philips Design followed for a decade. Here, I directed foresight programs and branding services. I developed Philips Design services in brand design, in cultural trend analysis, and networks in advanced business development, exploring industries like automotive and categories like luxury goods. My portfolio was enriched by countless projects. Industries included lighting, semiconductors, consumer electronics, medical digital services. Furthermore, I enjoyed non-competing third party clients like Lancia, Nike, VDL Mannesman, Mexx, and more. Also, as a company speaker, I was trained in stage performance to represent the company in world class conferences and academic collaborations. As a media savvy executive, I represented the company with articles, interviews and features. The Consulting Years.

The Consulting Years.

In 2009, I started my own consulting firm, based on my vision, values and experience. One of the main achievements was my role as Research Principal, Urban Futures, for Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting. Consequently, I had the opportunity to independently extend my contribution to Philips Lighting and their vision of the urban futures, activating their business networks for research purposes. Moreover, several clients followed. It was a decade full with projects and programs as a strategy and change consultant for international corporations, small medium enterprises, startups, and fine arts foundations in The Netherlands, Italy, the rest of Europe, Japan, and the USA.

Academia.

In 1995, I designed and delivered courses at Istituto Europeo  di Design,and Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, in Milan. Since 1995, I designed and delivered academic courses, seminars and events at world class institutes ranging from Vancouver Island University(2019)  to the School of Design of Politecnico di Milano (2018). Furthermore, Furthermore, I had the privilege to lecture at American institutes like Wharton Business School; the UNAM Post-graduate School of Architecture of Mexico City; and Art Center College of Design Pasadena (US). Since 2009, I have lectured and researched at Breda University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands. Here, I developed a strong pastoral vocation in mentoring students. In 2016, I promoted to doctoral status in Behavioural and Social Sciences with a monograph based on my work with Philips Lighting.In 2021, I was appointed Adjunct Professor and Member of the Board of Studies at World University of Design, India.

Thought Leadership.

On behalf of Philips Design from 1999 to 2009 and then independently, I delivered keynotes, moderated panels, and designed business events in Asia, the Americas, Russia, the UK, and the European Union. I worked with organizations like ESOMAR, TEDx, Design Management Institute, World Leisure Organization, and more. Furthermore, since 2009, I printed four books as author or co-author, with Palgrave, Gower/Ashgate, Taylor Francis and EMAP. Since 1995, more than 25 scientific papers and more than 50 editorial contributions were published. This all started with my tenure as Editor-in-chief with Giancarlo Politi Editore, publisher of Flash Art International. Since 2003, I am advisor to the President of ISISUF – Istituto Internazionale di Studi sul Futurismo, and since 2021 I am Principal Research this fine arts and design foundation programming FuturDome in Milan.
